Some Favorite Book Quotes

Books have made me laugh, cry, yell, giggle uncontrollably and they also make me spend lots of money. Books have taught me a great many things and continue to comfort me. Here are some quote from books I've read recently.

"As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once."-The Fault in Our Stars, By John Green

I kept seeing this book everywhere, and the movie is coming out next year. Finally, I knew I had to read it and wonder of wonders, on my very next shopping trip, there it was in the thrift store. I read it in three hours that night and was utterly delighted by the writing style.

"What better way to get to know someone than through her choice and treatment of books?"-The Thirteenth Tale, By Diane Setterfield

I adore this book. I can never pick an absolute favorite book, because that's like picking your favorite child, but this is hands down one of my favorites. It's been on my buying list for half an eternity but apparently stores don't stock the hardcover edition, which is the version I want.

"Besides getting several paper cuts in the same day or receiving the news that someone in your family has betrayed you to your enemies, one of the most unpleasant experiences in life is a job interview."-The Carnivorous Carnival, By Lemony Snicket

The Series of Unfortunate Events is one of the most hilariously written series I've ever read. Lemony Snicket jumps so often from dire to utterly ridiculous that it catches one off guard all the time.

"Don't you think it's better to be extremely happy for a short while, even if you lose it, than to be just okay for your whole life?"-The Time Traveler's Wife, By Audrey Niffenegger

This was another book I've been meaning to read for awhile and I finally got around to it. The plot was amazing. I honestly can't imagine writing something so complex.

"There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact."-Sherlock Holmes, By Arthur Conan Doyle

I recently finished watching two TV shows based on Sherlock Holmes, "Sherlock" and "Elementary", both of them very good. In turn, I reread a few of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries. It's honestly insane, the way he solves them.
