A-Z Survey

Author you've read the most books from:
Probably Carolyn Keene, though that is just a pen name for many people.

Best Sequel Ever:
The Last Days By Scott Westerfeld (Sequel to Peeps)

Currently Reading:
The Mummy Case By Elizabeth Peters, Leviathan By James Byron Huggins,

Drink of choice while reading:
Tea with sugar and milk.

E-reader or Physical Book?
Always, always a physical book.

Fictional Character you would probably have dated in High School:
Sam Temple from the Gone Series By Michael Grant

Glad you gave this book a chance:
The Princess Bride By William Goldman

Hidden Gem Book:
The Fionavar Tapestry By Guy Gavriel Kay. It had been sitting in the thrift store for two months and I'd almost bought it three times before finally taking it. I didn't read it till almost a year later, but it was amazing.

Important Moment in Your Reading Life:
Reading my first Nancy Drew book all on my own. My dad would read them out loud all the time and I was so proud of myself for finally getting through one by myself.

Just Finished:
The Curse of the Pharaohs by Elizabeth Peters

Kind of Books You Won't Read:
Anything Twilight-ish, with fluffy werewolves and really stupid female characters.

Longest Book You've Read:
The Fionavar Tapestry (four books in one) By Guy Gavriel Kay

Major Book hangover because of:
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Number of Bookshelves Owned:
Six

One Book You've Read Multiple Times:
The Thirteenth Tale By Diane Setterfield (though there are many others)

Preferred Place to Read:
Everywhere and anywhere

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you've read:
“People disappear when they die. Their voice, their laughter, the warmth of their breath. Their flesh. Eventually their bones. All living memory of them ceases. This is both dreadful and natural. Yet for some there is an exception to this annihilation. For in the books they write they continue to exist. We can rediscover them. Their humor, their tone of voice, their moods. Through the written word they can anger you or make you happy. They can comfort you. They can perplex you. They can alter you. All this, even though they are dead. Like flies in amber, like corpses frozen in the ice, that which according to the laws of nature should pass away is, by the miracle of ink on paper, preserved. It is a kind of magic.”-The Thirteenth Tale By Diane Setterfield

Reading Regret:
Twilight (I never made it to the next one and I refuse to buy them)

Series You Started and Need to Finish (with all the books in the series out):
The Gone Series by Michael Grant

Three of of your all time Favorite Books:
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield, The Mists of Avalon By Marion Zimmer Bradley, The Golden Book of Faerie By O.R. Melling

Unapologetic Fan Girl for:
I legitimately don't fan girl over books.

Very excited for this release more than the others:
Actually, I don't pay attention to new releases because I buy just about all of my books from thrift stores.

Worst Bookish Habits:
Leaving my books lying around all over the house and then remembering them in the middle of the night.

X marks the spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Well seeing as I have six shelves: The Cat Who Moved a Mountain By Lillian Jackson Braun, SkyClan's Destiny By Erin Hunter, Dragonquest By Donita K. Paul, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban By J.K. Rowling, A Holiday for Murder By Agatha Christie, The Singer of All Songs By Kate Constable

Your Latest Book Purchase:
Light by Michael Grant, and The Snake, The Crocodile and The Dog By Elizabeth Peters

ZZZ Snatcher Book (last one to keep you up way too late):
The Time Traveler's Wife By Audrey Niffenegger

Some Favorite Book Quotes

Books have made me laugh, cry, yell, giggle uncontrollably and they also make me spend lots of money. Books have taught me a great many things and continue to comfort me. Here are some quote from books I've read recently.

"As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once."-The Fault in Our Stars, By John Green

I kept seeing this book everywhere, and the movie is coming out next year. Finally, I knew I had to read it and wonder of wonders, on my very next shopping trip, there it was in the thrift store. I read it in three hours that night and was utterly delighted by the writing style.

"What better way to get to know someone than through her choice and treatment of books?"-The Thirteenth Tale, By Diane Setterfield

I adore this book. I can never pick an absolute favorite book, because that's like picking your favorite child, but this is hands down one of my favorites. It's been on my buying list for half an eternity but apparently stores don't stock the hardcover edition, which is the version I want.

"Besides getting several paper cuts in the same day or receiving the news that someone in your family has betrayed you to your enemies, one of the most unpleasant experiences in life is a job interview."-The Carnivorous Carnival, By Lemony Snicket

The Series of Unfortunate Events is one of the most hilariously written series I've ever read. Lemony Snicket jumps so often from dire to utterly ridiculous that it catches one off guard all the time.

"Don't you think it's better to be extremely happy for a short while, even if you lose it, than to be just okay for your whole life?"-The Time Traveler's Wife, By Audrey Niffenegger

This was another book I've been meaning to read for awhile and I finally got around to it. The plot was amazing. I honestly can't imagine writing something so complex.

"There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact."-Sherlock Holmes, By Arthur Conan Doyle

I recently finished watching two TV shows based on Sherlock Holmes, "Sherlock" and "Elementary", both of them very good. In turn, I reread a few of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries. It's honestly insane, the way he solves them.
